Coding agent
Tools with a clear boundary.
Give the server one approved PDF folder. Local tools create new outputs and refuse existing output filenames.
- Inspect size and page count.
- Try repacking without rasterizing pages.
- Extract a reviewed range or merge files in order.
- Return a first-party website workflow link.
Set up the local server
Extract the source bundle, review it, then install its locked dependencies. Use a supported Node.js environment; the fresh-install test used Node 24.14.0 on macOS.
npm ci --ignore-scripts --no-audit --no-fundConfigure your MCP client with the server path and an existing folder containing only approved PDFs.
BITEPDF_MCP_ROOT="/absolute/path/to/approved-pdfs" node /absolute/path/to/bitepdf-mcp-server.mjsThe environment variable must be passed to the same server process. The bundle includes Claude Code and Codex configuration examples; review permissions in your client.
Download integrity
Compare the archive’s SHA-256 with the checksum file.

A fresh local installation and 11 server tests passed, including actual stdio tool calls. Client-specific model sessions, Colab, Windows and physical-device behavior have not been verified.
The link tool does not transfer files or start processing. Video preparation uses the website; standalone MP3/WAV compression, captions and AI video enhancement are not included. This is a local source bundle, not a hosted MCP endpoint or npm-published plugin.
Keep originals. Review forms, signatures, links, text and page order before using an output. Compression and exact size targets are not guaranteed.
